Explorers Camp 2008 6th - 8th Grade Adventures: ![]() ![]() ![]()
EFEC Field School Adventures Take the next step towards becoming a real scientist. Discover the wonders of working in the field, collecting data while standing ankle deep in mud, or using high tech instruments to make scientific observations. Join us if you think you can handle it as the Mean Green Environmental Machine (the Elm Fork Education Center's own compressed natural gas bus) takes students on exciting adventures. x-Stream Adventure - a whole new aquatic world awaits campers entering 6th - 8th grade who choose Ex-Stream Adventures. They will be investigating first hand the unique nature of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River and/or Clear Creek. Learn what lives in, on and near a river. Discover the secrets that the water can reveal about how the land around it is treated. June 16th- 20th, 2008
Homes, Habits & Habitats - Have you ever wondered what a raccoon does during the day, or what might be living in that strange hole in the ground? If your entering 6th- 8th grade we have the perfect solution for all the who, what, why's and how's of nature. Campers will learn to build nests and dens, see for themselves what a variety of animals are up to, and explore the necessity each part has for the balance of the whole delicate ecosystem. June 30th- July 4th, 2008 E:CSI - Environmental Crime Scene Investigators we need your help. Recent reports of an environment crime have hit the streets. We are putting together a team of dedicated Crime Scene Investigators who are up to the challenge of this CSI case. Campers entering 6th - 8th grade can join us on a simulated crime. They will work as a team to investigate and try to solve the mystery. Data will be collected daily and analyzed in an attempt to construct a chain of evidence that leads to the culprits!
