Welcome!
If this
is your first time scheduling a group for the Environmental Discovery and
Adventure program please set up an account after reading through the
material on this page at our online group
registration site.
We open
our calendar for the upcoming school year in late March of the previous
year and are typically 90% booked by April. We are always 100% booked by
the start of any school year. On occasion, however, cancellations do occur
and a waiting list is kept, if you are interested. Small groups, less than
44 students can sometimes be scheduled on the same day as another small
group. Please email us with these requests at elmfork@unt.edu
if our calendar is booked.
Setting
up an Account:
- Select
the "create an account" button to the right of the login and
password boxes.
- Please
provide as much information as possible. We realize that enrollment
numbers are constantly changing so please estimate a little high.
- Once
you have created an account you will be able to login and access our
calendar. The calendar will indicate the status of each day. It will
list if the day is available or booked and if there are any
restrictions to who may book that day.
In order
to be as equitable as possible to our founding school district partners
and all other districts we attempt to fairly distribute the days available
to schools in districts other than Denton or Lewisville.
Helpful
Hints in Date Selections:
- Fall
semester may not be best for kindergarten or first grade.
- Fridays
are always the most popular and October and April book immediately.
- Our
program runs rain or shine, hot or cold. We do the best we can to
adapt to the weather conditions but much of the program has to take
place outside.
- School
calendars are incredibly complex please check your teacher work day,
early release and holiday schedule before selecting a day.
- Completing
the pre-visit lesson prior to your
visit will help ensure that your students have the best possible
experience while at the Elm Fork Education Center. The less review our
instructors have to do, the more time the students will have to
participate in the discovery activities.
