American Crow (Corvus Brachyrhynos) |
||
The American Crow by Alice Delaney Caw-caw, caw-caw, says the American crow With a black & purplish gleam his feathers do glow. Should you desire to see him you would be sent In forest, woodlands & grasslands, his time there is spent. Omnivorous is a word we use which means Animals like Mr. Crow we have seen Eating both plants & animals- it is true, Herbivore & carnivore, either role for the crow will do. And a good neighbor the American crow can be, Alerting all around to danger he sees. And on occasion birds of prey are attacked by crows For what the prey bird reaps, you see, he also sows from the crow. Lastly, watch your stuff or he’s off like a dash Taking all kinds of goodies to his nest to stash. While these facts might seem like tales gone absurd, It proves the crow is indeed a most intelligent bird.
